Hi, I'm Shelby, the founder and creative force behind Something About Her Events.

I'm a wife, a mom, and the kind of friend who will always cheer you on, a helping hand, and probably a colour-coded checklist. When I'm not planning events, you'll find me camping, watching reality TV, trying a new recipe, or finding any excuse to decorate a space and make it feel beautiful.

For years, I built a career in roles that allowed me to plan meaningful events—from camp retreats and youth conferences to holiday celebrations, weddings, and community gatherings. While I loved every opportunity to bring people together, I knew event planning was more than just one part of my job—it was the part that truly lit me up.

That realization led me to create Something About Her Events: a business dedicated to transforming ideas into unforgettable experiences.

My background as a Child and Youth Worker taught me the importance of connection, empathy, organization, and creating spaces where people feel welcomed and celebrated. Those values continue to shape every event I plan, whether it's an intimate gathering, a corporate function, a charity gala, or the wedding you've always dreamed of.

I'm known for my meticulous attention to detail, calm presence under pressure, and ability to anticipate the little things that make a big difference. I believe great events are about more than beautiful décor—they're about creating moments that people remember long after the last guest has gone home.
